A magical place! Probably often windy and stormy? And for some reason, the name sounds like Aeolus-Elgol to me... Aeolus—lord of the winds. And for some reason, I couldn't find Elgol in the encyclopedia. I wanted to know more about this beauty! I'll also look online if you don't tell me. You usually have interesting, comprehensive information! Thank you, Sasha, for the magnificent photos!

Tatyana Kulchitskaya, Thank you for your attention, Tatyana! Elgol is a very small village (a dozen or so houses) on the southern tip of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Nevertheless, it is well-known, even famous among photographers. From here, across the bay, the most spectacular view of the beautiful Cuillin mountain range opens up. The setting sun illuminates the mountains and clouds, creating magnificent pictures that, as we know, are never repeated. I've been to Elgol two or three times, but I've never experienced calm, steady weather—it was always windy, with scudding clouds and pouring rain. But even in the wind and rain, this place never loses its charm.

I look at this photo again and again! It's beautiful. It reminds me of the village of Granitny on the Barents Sea. The same cliffs surround the village. From the window of the Finnish house, you can see a bay with a huge ice floe, on which seals sometimes climbed. It's a shame they didn't have digital cameras back then! I had a digital camera, so I took pictures of my family and neighbors. I handed them out. It was nice that they were happy. They had an interesting life… without a TV, a computer, or a mobile phone. It's hard to imagine it now!
