Yes, you're right, we really do trade happiness for comfort... and rarely notice it.

"Why do we trade happiness for comfort?"... Strongly! Very strongly!

Because we probably don't listen to our hearts.
That's why we sometimes go down paths that aren't ours.
Sometimes blindly.

My comment didn't connect with the card. There are no visible signs of civilization. The clothes are probably traditional for that area (wool or felt), and the houses are the same. I just liked the character. I even had a sense of déjà vu. The tovarishch is a bit of a hindrance View crop

ash, yes, that "comrade" is a big, not a little, distraction. He's right about the comment, but Egor wrote that the comment wasn't about the photo, but rather about his own emotions when he visited it.
But those emotions aren't in the photo. And the discussion under the photo is more about the comment about "happiness and comfort" than the photo itself.
For me, this portrait isn't the best of the Tibetan series I've seen. For me, this photograph is a tired and cliched theme—the depiction of a poor, pathetic little person (sick old ladies, poor children, wretched drunks in back alleys, homeless people in dumps, the destitute...), and the execution isn't the best...

The lighting is superb, the color is subdued, the gaze, the half-turn...

A person on salary is very inappropriate. IMHO.

By the way, real milk tea is drunk in Tibet! I'd love to try it.

[quote]By the way, real milk tea is drunk in Tibet! I'm dying to try it.] It's truly disgusting, probably because they add fat, salt, and so on. Although Yegor knows better, let him judge.
As for the photo and comment, they're both good, but separate from each other. n.m.v.

I like his eyes, and even the one in the back isn't a hindrance, and everything is so real and lifelike.
And I like the shadow from the second one, and it adds to the mood.
A good portrait!

There's probably a general lack of trust in the eyes, right? The photo is good.
