The right side bothers me.

The right side is in my way.
Sever, without it the photo would be completely plain and uninteresting. IMHO.

Sever, on the right side of the holder there is a left shadow from a branch resting against the tree itself - how could you not see this

dis-sident,
how could you not see this
- but I saw that you studied poorly in school, if you studied at all. See this and pick up an ABC book. Good luck!

dis-sident, - but I see that you didn't study well in school, if you studied at all. See this and pick up a primer. Good luck!
Sever, it's a shame you're looking in the wrong place - and good luck too ;)

dis-sident, I have a broad outlook. Okay, I'll take back the crudeness, and now to the point. The right side of the photograph, with its eclectic scattering of small figures in the distance, is completely alien to the left side in terms of genre and has absolutely no role in shaping the main idea or purpose of the photograph. I'm not at all interested here in whether the author had any kind of goal or idea; I have a photograph in front of me. The left two-thirds of the photograph, forming a precise square, reveal a clear and well-expressed idea: texture and geometry, the texture of the masonry and the geometry of the fence, and above all this, a quick sketch of the shadow. You have to get used to the fact that a differently composed photograph, with some of the previous material discarded or, more rarely, with the addition of space, is not a change to the original photograph, it is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PHOTO and it cannot be contrasted with what it grew out of. Good luck, Dissident!

IMHO: the photo is interesting only because of the "right-left" juxtaposition. The color, scale, mood—everything is different. Just like in life: everything is jumbled together. The grass seems a bit too bold to me. I'd like to tone it down a bit; it sticks out.

Sever, for the first part of the story, beer in the studio, the analysis was impressive;)

I like everything about it! A multifaceted, interesting work with a decidedly unconventional decision to go not from LWU to PNU, but vice versa. And the light and shadow pattern on the right side ties in harmoniously with the left.

In the discussion of how and on what everything is held together and whether parts are necessary, many missed the point that, alongside the voluminous left side, emphasized by texture, light, and shadows, there's a right side that's visually devoid of volume and perspective. The tree, shadow, and branches serve as a connection, connecting these parts into a single whole. Logically, you understand that the figures are distant, but the picture presents the world differently, which is the artist's merit. View crop Plus, this moment plays into the idea... a complete, self-contained frame.

dis-sident, To what I've said, it's necessary to clarify the genre incompatibility of the two parts of the frame: one is purely pictorial, figurative in nature, the other leans toward reportage; and also: the tonal incompatibility of these two parts is jarring: the left one is warm-toned, the right one is cool. Therefore, there is no "unification of these parts into a single whole," and there can be none, unless you consider that they were accidentally squeezed into a common frame.
