That's exactly where I haven't been.) Excellently described. A very interesting place!
Andrey Kolesov, It's a shame, Andrey, that you didn't get to visit this village. It's actually two villages: the upper one with the tower is ancient, and the lower one is new. The tower has been restored and is now a museum. I would have stayed in this village for a while: the people and their traditions are very interesting. There are many houses in the village with home museums; the items are carefully preserved, and they are given separate rooms in the houses. Thank you for your comment and visit.
Interesting shot! The watchtower is already surrounded by houses!
Svetlana Shapiro, there are many old houses under the tower. Some are renovated and lived in, but there are also many abandoned buildings. If we had stayed in the village another day, we could have taken some interesting photos in this place, but alas, there was no time. Thank you, Sveta, for your emotions and comment)))
Interesting place, Vera! It's fascinating to explore...
Marina Fomina, I liked Dagestan for its uniqueness. It has a deep history, but few tourist guides know about it, and there's not much information online. Did you notice that there's a cemetery below and to the right of the tower? That's how it is in almost all villages in Dagestan: they build houses around cemeteries. Thank you, Marina, for your comment, and I'm glad the photo evoked emotion.
