Everyone seems to be sick of walls, but I can't help myself; I still watch and like them.

Off-topic question. Yesterday, someone asked me to justify my downvote for his sunset photo. I promised, but I can't find his photo. It's not in my messages :-( It's kind of awkward, I promised and then didn't follow through.

It seems like everyone's sick of walls, but I can't help but look at them and like them anyway.
Edu, there's nothing surprising about that. What's a photograph of a wall? An author is walking along, sees a beautiful wall, takes a picture, and with his photograph, he's saying to the viewer, "Look at this beautiful wall! I saw this beauty, captured it, and now I'm showing you my own unique perspective." And the viewers are like, "Oh, what a truly wonderful wall, and how did you see that? Although, to be honest, dear author, we've seen enough of these wall paintings, you could even say we've had our fill of them; we'd like something new from you. Your wall paintings are starting to make us feel nauseous. Seriously, how much longer can we continue to exploit this wretched wall?!"
Here, however, the situation is completely different. Here, the author saw a slanted stick. And a tree. And even the advert, white. And all this, well, yes, against the background of a small wall, but the wall is still beautiful, and the stick is beautiful, and the tree, and even the advert, somehow fit in so well that together they formed something so elusive, and even somehow aesthetic. Like an angelic choir. And the author says: "Ah, look, how beautiful!" That's how profound this photograph is. And the stick, and the tree, and the advert, and, damn it, the small wall! Not just any wall. Much more meaningful! And the author is great, he saw it all, and he could have passed it by, but he didn't, because he has a look, and you know what his look is like? Well, very special! )

I'm looking at the feed on my phone and see a wonderful diptych: a slanted stick at the bottom, and a single pepper tank at the top, which I just barely squeezed shut. And this tank's gun is just like that, just like that, slanted. There!

Monoclon,
For some reason, I remembered something I read a long time ago, I don't even remember the author, but the gist is, "Some photography touches the intuition more than the rational mind..."

If you're shooting a composition,
Then use your intuition.
And discriminate against your bad rational mind.

Monoclone,
The situation on the site, from my observations, how can I put it mildly... It seems sunny, but it's like you're walking through a minefield, one step left or right, ladies and gentlemen, and... So it's not just the reins that get thrown under the bus...

The atmosphere on the site, from my observations, how can I put it this way... It seems sunny, but it's like you're walking through a minefield, one step left, one step right, ladies and gentlemen, and... So it's not just a drag...
Lana Medved 123, for me, it's more about internal battles, myself and myself. And the site... what a site... it's always been and will be, everything in a circle, not even a spiral, day after day, year after year, nothing new. Boring. But somehow, it's also attractive. I don't understand why.)

Monoclone,
I don't know how this sounds, or how trite it may sound, but a person, especially a creative person, goes through stages or phases in their work, and the transition from one to another is mostly a rethinking, a struggle with oneself, sometimes depression, and more often than not, dissatisfaction with how and what you shoot or see. It's common for people on the website to delete works from their portfolios. I find this strange, because it clearly shows growth, or a transition from one stage to another, or simply an interest in a different genre. As for the website itself, many others have their own undercurrents.

Edu, thank you, but I was just making fun of myself, in a fit of self-flagellation.) Because it's beautiful, and nothing more. It's either a simple wall or a wall with a beam—a stick. The essence is the same, but I want it to be different. And I can't overcome it. How many years, already...

Monoclon, Thank you! Of course, I try to find more reliable, or more precisely, documentary sources, but any novels by Stone, Perruchot, even science fiction ones, etc., are received with great gratitude by me.

Edu, why novels? They're documentary biography, and Perruchot is known more than just a novelist; he's known as a biographer and art historian.

Monoclon, I'd clarify, a novelized biography which doesn't diminish his books and work in general.
