[i]"Belarusian Photo Site!", "Krasnograd" Farm, "Geliktit-TM" Belarusian Caving Club, and "U Birilki" PhotoArtStudio announce a tourism-themed art photography competition, "WHERE DOES ASPHALT ENDS" [2026]
1. PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION
To promote ecotourism in Belarus and develop creative photography. The competition invites entries that reflect the beauty of Belarusian nature, raise environmental protection and ecological issues, scenes from tourist life, and characteristic portraits of its representatives.
Rakovich, I agree, it's not a tourist photo, it doesn't come back, :wink, thanks. Pavel Ustuzhanin (belarussus), NetHunter, OneMan, Prohor, eugenio, Dmitry Babrovich (Capter), Igor Kozlov (adam_k), Viktor Balalaikin, thanks. Joker, those little people are bothering me too... I was framing the shot based on the light and shadow lines, I thought about it five times, and I still have two more to think about, thanks.
Rakovich, then the competition theme should have been more specific: for example, "Ecotourism and Photography," "Ecophotography," "Come on in, everyone, it's clean!" or something like that. It would have been clear and obvious that it was a PR campaign for ecotourism in Belarus. And anyway, what kind of ideological framework could there be? The title is enough, right?
This fits... And for me, it's a high-quality, good photo from the numerous pieces of junk submitted to the competition. Although it's not about nature and ecology (although that's still an issue). After this landscape competition, I'll be shooting for it
The competition will end with us comparing whose birch tree is slenderer, and whose horse is positioned correctly for the composition... There are similar competitions like "My Four-Legged Friend," "Our Birds," "Lakes of Belarus"... there will be a ton of junk...
Alex Gvozditskiy, why be afraid? A landscape photographer is naturally afraid... and captures static subjects that aren't shy, don't push, don't waver. If only they were good photographers... So much time... set up a tripod, a tent, try different shutter speeds and apertures, angles a thousand times... but no, it still doesn't work out... In the city, not everyone can get a camera and wave it through the streets... and in nature, we're all bold photographers, but somehow there aren't enough good landscapes...
So maybe it's not the landscapes and landscape photographers that are the problem, but the people?
Alex Gvozditskiy, that was me when I was "young", ... it's been a while since anyone shoved my pictures in my face )))) Maybe they're worthless pictures, but find similar ones on the site (except for the road near Mayak Mountain) ... And when I open the landscape, I see a sunset, a field, a river, birds flying (usually photoshopped ones) ...
Igor Kozlov (adam_k), but when I discover the genre... Some people, buildings, roads... Everywhere the same, and all in black and white. You're narrow-minded. If you don't like landscapes, so be it. Why threaten poor landscape artists and trumpet "crap" under every convenient photo?
Alex Gvozditskiy, Who said "crap"? Landscape is pop culture. It's reality. Landscape is the genre all photographers started with. The broad scope of a landscape image doesn't reflect the photographer's broad mind (that's my narrow-mindedness).
Igor Kozlov (adam_k), "megacritics" like these need to be shot.
Keep your likes and dislikes of various genres to yourself, and don't make them into generally accepted realities. And who started with what and how they continued is an idea, to put it mildly, plucked from thin air.
Everyone has their own life and their own preferences.
If you lack respect for other people's creativity, you should force yourself to hold your tongue before writing another piece of nastiness.
Discussions about the meaning of photography are a growing trend on the site. No matter where I go, there's always some kind of friction/discussion/swearing. I'm lucky for that. It's good that it happens under these kinds of works – there's something to watch (this is exactly the case), and sometimes there's something to read. I really don't want to improve myself, damn it!
To promote ecotourism in Belarus and develop creative photography. The competition accepts entries that reflect the beauty of Belarusian nature, raise environmental protection and ecological issues, scenes from tourist life, and characteristic portraits of its representatives.
You'll have to excuse me, but Rakovich is right. I wanted to write the same thing.
People, no one denies Viktor's talent as a genre reporter, etc.
This entry is good, but it's not for this competition.
Igor Kozlov (adam_k), why waste words on a photo site and insult anyone, let alone make threats? Incidentally, this could be tried under the Criminal Code. It would be better if you treated us to some good entries.
In short, the goal of the competition is clear - the guide ends with asphalt - ecotourism and endless landscapes begin, from Belarusian regional attractions to the Atlantic =)
and even more so, making threats? By the way, this could be qualified under the Criminal Code.
- is this about "shooting"? I think I put emojis everywhere. I assure all landscape painters, lovers of recomendations, fields, and sunsets that I don't own a firearm, and that I love my native beauty as much as you do. I never thought lyricists were such a serious bunch.
Maxim Veize (Helloween), I have the right to say what I like and what I don't. And what do ranks and all that crap have to do with it? No one can stand anything? My opinion is just that.
Viktor Baikovsky (Next), forgive the spam and chatter on your page, but it's really been a bit of a pain. They could have just called it "Landscape Competition," but no, "Where the Asphalt Ends..."—that's more poetic, but we need to think like the competition organizers... about landscapes and prominent figures in tourism. I think some of the most prominent figures will emerge in the end. We're waiting...
Igor Kozlov (adam_k), yeah, nothing special Igor, I like this hubbub, it's not for nothing that I wrote about the kindergarten in the last photo... everything is so nice and straightforward, the main thing is that they don't run over the fence... at lunch the nanny will smear their foreheads with green paint, and in the evening the parents will take them home...
granddaughter, what is a technical joke? I generally like to joke... or is this a genre of photography? Eduard Dobrozhinetsky, V.Buturlia (albion), Belsky, Aleksey Bragin, Aleksandr Koltsov, ANRI, bk , Marina Ivanova, Joker, Artur Yakutsevich, Dmitry Babrovich (Capter), Viktor Balalaikin, ega, Igor Kozlov (adam_k), B. Paster, Rakovich, NetHunter, Pavel Ustuzhanin (belarussus), OneMan, Viktor Atapin, Prohor, eugenio, Agony aunt, Olga Loiko (Jolka), Aleksandr Sergeevich, Sergey Semkov, ArtGapan, Artem Zdanevich (The Quality), Mechanism, NIA, Stary, Jak Trum, Vladislav Krasnoshchek, bo-bo, okrest, Medvedev, Youjeen, Fafner, tasha lyu, Valera Pjastun, Losev Aleksandr, Vasiljevich, Maxim Veize (Helloween), Woodshy, Tarnalitsky Maksim, maxanin, Karel, and everyone who dropped by, thanks for their attention
Admit it, you're just making fun of the contest organizers
at all. I knew for sure this entry wouldn't be suitable for the calendar, but since it fit the contest title, I thought it would be fine. Granddaughter, read comment 12. I couldn't remove the photo from the contest, and I even regretted putting it there. After all, some organizers simply don't accept entries that don't fit the contest theme for the second round. Photography for me is something effortless; I don't wince while trying to take a picture; I just go and press the button, so all my photos can be classified as photo jokes ;)
Viktor Baikovsky (Next), Do you really think I'm trying to accuse you of anything inappropriate? And who said you can't laugh at the competition organizers here (it's not stated in the rules). "Photography for me is something effortless. I don't wince while trying to take a picture, I just go and press the button" – a couple of weeks ago, I thought the same thing, I was simply enjoying my hobby...
Granddaughter, your comments are a provocation for flame wars. I don't play such "jokes." There's already so much broken lances here, I honestly feel uncomfortable. There's no need to look for the underlying motivations of other authors' actions, nor should you be held accountable for others. Everything usually turns out much simpler.
I support the author. Well done. I also didn't see the geographic boundaries
But "work" is really on point.
This principle of "there's my opinion and the wrong one" doesn't really fit with democracy.
People voted for "work." And knowing about the competition, they voted for "work of the day." And largely because it's clear, humorous, and on-topic. And criticism of tourism and the environment isn't accepted, as I see it. It's nice to live in a Soviet country...
The asphalt simply ran out, nothing more.
My heels are burning, he's changing his legs
great moment, genre
But!

Photo jokes – yes, it's a genre of photography.
I like to joke too.
